The walls of this Pasta Kitchen are decorated with beautiful images of Italy to transport you out of Merida and into the town of Napoli. From the outside it looks small and cosy and you will be greeted by the smells of the beautiful ingredients wafting from the open kitchen as you step through the front door.
The dream for Roberto was always to have a typical Italian restaurant and share his food. He spent 6 years in restaurants in the UK (so don’t be afraid to ask him a question in English) and studied culinary management in Italy. 2 years ago, he and his wife opened Napoli Mia in the hope of sharing their love for food with the local people here. Roberto uses his grandmother’s recipes for many of the options on the menu and he has enjoyed sharing these with his chefs and teaching them the skills he learned growing up.
Start your meal with the mouth watering Insalata Caprese, a really popular salad with all the colours of Italy, fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil with a drizzling of olive oil. One of our favourite pasta dishes is the Spagetti Carbonara, freshly made pasta with a gorgeously simple and smooth carbonara sauce and topped with chunks of crispy bacon. For meat lovers, try the Braciole di Maiale, pork loin stuffed with ricotta cheese and mozzarella served with roasted potatoes and peppers and black olives – so much Mediterranean flavour!
For dessert you absolutely have to try the tiramisu, a personal and possibly the best tiramisu we’ve tasted outside of Italy. It’s so unbelievably light and unexpectedly more-ish.
The dishes at Napoli Mia are unique as the owners have created a variety of pastas, salads, meat dishes and desserts that will appeal to all food lovers. They will even cook your pasta just how you like it! So pop in on Calle 60, trust us when we say it will exceed your expectations.

You’re twirling strands of smooth handmade pasta around your fork in a delightful little bistro opposite the beautiful 18th Century yellow church, Parroquia Santa Ana, as the sun goes down. It’s romantic, relaxing and the food is authentically Italian. Except you’re not in Italy, you’re actually in the centre of Merida, on Santa Ana square, where owner Roberto, originally from Napoli, has managed to create a wonderful little Italian bistro right in the heart of Yucatan’s capital: Napoli Mia.
